For the past two weeks, State Representative Jarvis Johnson and his Community Outreach Coordinator- Dr. Nico S. Mathews, have been sorting through requests and assessing the needs of individuals who are combating the sweltering temperatures of our infamous, Houston summers.
“ Being able to personally reach out and touch the lives of people, directly, is one of the best things about being a State Representative,” explains Representative Johnson. “ This is a position of service and I am always proud to serve, especially when it involves enhancing the quality of another person’s day to day life. It doesn’t feed the ego. It feeds the spirit and I am both honored and humbled whenever I have the opportunity to do it.”
